Description
Mechanical PTO on the rear of the transfer box, engaged by a dog clutch on the main gearbox output gear through a lever-operated fork. It drives onboard welders, compressors and pumps by V-belt or propshaft and is the drive for the rear PTO; selector moved from under the centre seat to the heel board in October 1960.
One Ton/IIB FC version is shorter with blue knob; LT95 version (Stage 1, 101, Range Rover) self-contained with taper bearings, short run before LT77/LT230
Rarity. The most common Land Rover PTO: about 2,000 of the first pattern alone, and the fourth pattern ran from Series II to the end of Series III. Complete kits are still sold at £312-432 (lroe, 2026) and €565-1,599 (lr-winches).
