Manual locking front hubs by Warn, whose founder Arthur Warn developed the locking hub in 1948 for surplus Jeeps, offered as a dealer option on Land Rovers sold in North America with fitting instructions dated October 1960; the Land Rover inner drive member was machined from the 10-spline Jeep/Scout part, with 24-spline versions made briefly for the Series III 109.
