Schreider Great Rift — Series IIA 88

The original August 1965 National Geographic account photographs the vehicle crossing the Nubian Desert (printed pages 254–255). Its short wheelbase, two side doors, rear-quarter glazing, pale hard roof, dark body and rear spare establish the 88-inch station-wagon configuration used here. A cabin photograph on page 287 shows sliding door glass and the driving position. The text records folding bunks, a dashboard altimeter, two bumper fuel cans and seven reserve tins inside. The exact manufacture year, registration and paint shade are not confirmed; Series IIA identification follows the period and visible Series II-family body. No invented expedition lettering or roof luggage has been added. Hidden fittings use shared Series geometry. The separate later Alexander expedition is not used as a visual substitute.
