The Wild Oven's bespoke Land Rover Defender 110 wood-fired kitchen from Stratford-upon-Avon — a truck cab carrying a timber-clad, steel-framed box with the oven inside, catering events of 10 to 300 people from a 4.5 m square pitch with British farm-sourced menus such as wood-fired steak and crispy belly pork.
The Wild Oven began with a wood-fired oven built into a Land Rover so that it could cook anywhere a wedding, festival or party might be held. Their Defender 110 truck cab, GM02 GGJ, carries a large timber-clad box with a steel frame on its bed, the oven's mouth opening through the side and the whole rig fitting a 4.5 m square pitch; a second Land Rover and a kitchen trailer followed as the business grew. The company's photographs show the grey Defender with a spare tyre on the cab roof and five-spoke alloys set up beside a tipi with the crew cooking. Menus are built on British farm produce — wood-fired steak, crispy belly pork, flatbreads and roasted vegetables — for parties of ten to three hundred.
