The record

The Holgate family used two Defenders for its journey around the Tropic of Capricorn. The Foundation gallery shows a white two-door long-wheelbase hardtop with fitted side windows and steel wheels alongside a white five-door station wagon on alloy wheels. The supplied expedition account identifies Chuma as the hardtop; Susi is assigned to the companion station wagon on that basis. Both carry expedition lettering, sponsor panels, rear spares, roof loads and protective front bars. The model follows the Australian-leg photographs. Tiny route flags and unreadable sponsor details are simplified, registration is omitted because it cannot be read reliably, and exact build year, engine and expedition conversion location remain unconfirmed. Handling values are game tuning.

AI rendering impression

An AI rendering impression starts from a 3D model of this vehicle, which an image model then paints into a scene. It is an artist's impression of the type, made to give a feel for the vehicle in its element — not a photograph, and not a record of any particular vehicle.

Proportions, fittings, markings, colours and the setting can all drift from the original in the process. For the vehicle's actual details, rely on the specification, the photographs and the cited sources on this page.
