Description

Approved hydraulic power kit: a Dowty GP2 gear pump on the hydraulic centre PTO shaft giving 2.5 to 8.5 gal/min at 1,500 rpm and up to 2,500 psi, a cab-mounted Size 1 control valve with relief valve, and a GM2 hydraulic motor of 6-8 bhp that can be mounted at the front or rear of the chassis to drive an implement by hose instead of mechanical linkage. It was the basis of hydraulic winches, tipping gear and remotely actuated farm implements.

Pump also mounted on the Aeroparts bottom PTO from 1963 (anti-clockwise 'A' pump, smaller pattern from late 1970s)

Rarity. The Dowty pump was the standard hydraulic source on the Aeroparts hydraulic centre and bottom PTOs and the Land Rover hydraulic winches, so pumps survive (lr-winches offers a NOS Dowty pump PTO at €2,349) but complete pump-motor-valve implement kits are seldom seen.
